Religious Bracelets and other treasures

religiousbracelet8

I may have mentioned in another post that I was brought up Catholic.  Well I have just bought a beautiful Fellowship Bracelet from a wonderful eBay seller  the Immaculata   for a good friend of mine in the USA.   It is a unique chunky bracelet with charms, as above.

Now I’ve gone back to the site & purchased for myself a pretty multi-coloured stone chip bracelet.  It has a small stone butterfly and stone cross.  When I was younger my favorite bracelet was one with a stone cross!  It is beautiful.  I love multi-colours too!

Head over now to look at the amazing array of items for yourself in the United States, or another country – –   or for a Friend or family member.   UPDATE:  Sadly (for me) I did not get the bracelet above, because the Seller could not post it to me in Australia due to shipping constraints.  If I was in the USA the same country as the seller, I would have been able to purchase it.

Crystal Skull World Day 2015 – 22 November

crystal skull event 2015WHAT IF every crystal skull guardian in the world focused on sending a healing energy to Mother Earth and all life for fifteen-twenty minutes on one special day?  Join me and others in holding your special Crystal skull and sending a laser beam of peace and love to all Earth.  This invitation is very timely and poignant for me, as I am organising a Fund-raiser to raise funds for displaced people within Syria and refugees.  I wish with all my HEART that a cease-fire would happen and that whatever madness is in the hearts of the men causing so much horrific turmoil will disappear without a trace.

YES, the whole world NEEDS Light and Love intensively emblazoned or evoked within every single person’s Heart or Soul.  I think that it is the job of Light Workers to draw out and stimulate or to light the fire of the truth of our one-ness and of Love for one another within the Souls of those “dark” Beings that cause so much disruption and hurt.  DO NOT just send or bathe them with LOVE but see Love awaken within them, see it ignite from their core.

Isn’t there “good” and “bad” within each one of us?  It is no use demonizing people to the exclusion of seeing them as nonredeemable or not salvageable.  I will be using my smoky quartz crystal skull called Cristal Lady of the Firewater, to pray for sense and sensibility, for a massive transformation – for Homo sapiens ( human beings ) collectively to ignite a fire and a rain of LOVE.

I also have a small SUGILITE CRYSTAL SKULL- FOR REIKI HEALING

and a small NUMMITE CRYSTAL SKULL – FOR SPIRITUAL PROTECTION & GROUNDING

nuummite crystal skullAND  a small crystal skull from Joshua Shapiro, that i call “Rainbow.  Sorry, no photo, as I had to re-do my computer recently & can’t seem to find many of my images I thought I had saved, LOL.

I hope that anyone reading this will join in with a Crystal Skull or even just an etheric crystal skull, or any clear quartz crystal.

Perth Royal Show 2015

Purrfectly Cool_Perth_Royal_Show_2015

It’s on again!  The Perth Royal Show, this year, runs from Saturday 26th September until Saturday 3rd October 2015.  Just one week of games, rides, showbags, animals, exhibitions and purchases you wouldn’t normally make!

My sister and I bought our tickets earlier from our local IGA store with a saving of $4, making our Adult priced tickets $25 each rather than $29 each.  Any saving is a saving, we thought.  Having perused the parking suggestions on the official website, we decided to park at Rowe Park, the closest parking to the show at the Claremont Showgrounds.

I’m used to getting up around 6.15 am to go to work, so my sister stayed the night at my house on Friday 25th, then on Saturday 26th, we got up early, had a light breakfast & got ready.  Off we went, with my sister driving, loaded with camera, coffee in a thermos flask, hats, and a bottle of Powerade drink each.  We arrived at the little concrete car park for the actual Park, about 7.50 am, yes, at ten to 8.   We planned to get there an hour before the Show started, because we heard there was very limited parking.   We also though that one had to pay $20 for official parking.

However, because we had got there so very early, luckily, we were able to park in the official car park, rather than have to drive onto the lawn, which I think is what you have to pay for.  Rowe Park was a pleasant grassy area with swings and amenities, a great place for kids to play in or adults to sun themselves to have a sleep, or to do some pleasant reading.  In the car, I sipped my coffee eagerly, while noting a Sign reading “Surveillance Cameras” in use.

If you are driving, I recommend you turn into Langsford Street, Vaucluse Avenue or Reserve Road, off Stirling Highway, as shown below, to get to Stevens Road.   The small Car Park is off Stevens Road.  You then simply get out off your car, and bear right-ish or cross the road carefully ( two lanes ) and walk to the right under the bridge then around to the left and there is Gate One.

Princess Charming by Atlas – Lucite – Wicker Vintage Handbag – Seashell Design

seashell wicker basket 2

I just received my beautiful gorgeous Seashell Handbag from Marianna of     “Sweeties Memorable Gemz”   on Ruby Lane.

It is amazing.  I really love it and as we are heading here “Down Under” in Australia, into Spring, it is perfect for taking out and about and using on casual outings.  The Listing had the following description for this bag.  It was made in the same era as me (1960s).

Princess Charming by Atlas of Hollywood Florida – Made in Hong Kong – Front Panel decorated with Seashells, Seahorse Charms. Vintage 1950’s – 1960’s.

This charming vintage white wicker box bag is an underwater scene with faux coral, various seashells and starfish and seahorse charms all placed on a white lace type open weave fabric. The entire decorated panel is edged in fancy gold trim. There is a clear layer of plastic that covers and protects the underwater scene. The measurements inside the trim panel are 11″ x 6-1/2″.

The white wicker is a laminated wicker that shows no wear. There are also white leather accents on the bottom where the bag has 4 brass protective feet. The top is framed in white marbleized Lucite with a Lucite clasp and double Lucite handles.   This is a perfect handbag to carry during the summer.

The white plastic liner has a zipper compartment and open pouch, the inside is very clean and has no odors. The brass hardware on the top is bright. The measurements are 12″ across x 8″ high (with the Lucite handle the measurement is about 12″ high), the depth is 4″ making it a roomy box bag to carry.  This Atlas of Hollywood Florida is a highly original theme design bag that was popular in the 1950’s and 60’s and highly collectible and popular to carry today.

Adora-belle Bracelets

azurie_malachite_braceletAbove –   Azurite – Malachite Bracelet from

Adora Belle Boutique

Above are photos of my wonderful new Bracelets.

They were made by a talented Australian, Natasha, who has an eBay Store!

Adora Belle Boutique

Recently I have been quite drawn to gemstones and the mineral world, and attracting some to me, as well as purchasing some items.  Recently, a friend at work gave me some beautiful polished Chakra stones.

African Turqoise is not a real turqoise, but is a teal coloured Jasper.  These bracelets are amazing.  The stones are large and the bracelets comfortable to wear, and look gorgeous.  I feel lucky to have them, and I can say that I felt a nice energy when just looking at these bracelets on the eBay store.  Rest assured that if you purchase a Bracelet or item from Adora Belle Boutique, that you will love it.  I will love wearing my bracelets.

Jacqui from Holistic Harmony provided a wonderful “Crystal Healing Directory” which I attach below, if you would like to look up the healing / beneficial properties of the various crystals / stones.  In my experience, the beautiful amazing gems from our natural world do amplify various energetic aspects of our human bodies, so can benefit us by wearing them, or having them near us!

I have just ordered a beautiful pink Rhodocrosite bracelet from an Etsy seller, with a Virgo charm.  You can select a Charm to be affixed to your Bracelet, and it will be sent to you post haste by a lovely seller in Miami, U.S.A.    See  https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/HealingAtlas and what is also great, I think, is that you can choose a bracelet length and get a quote on “shipping” costs to your country, and the postage cost is very reasonable, given the high postage prices from the U.S.   See photos below.

Well, when I found out that Rhodocrosite is not only the most gorgeous amazing color ( one of my favorites – pink ) but it also helps to heal the heart or the emotions, I thought this is also for me.  So, I have “splashed” out on the pink too –  this beautiful bracelet did not cost me much.

I am the “Gemstone Bracelet Queen”, I think! I love pretty gemstone bracelets and other jewellery. Well, these gemstone bracelets are well worth what I paid for them – in fact they are priceless in terms of the pleasure and benefit they will bring me!

Reticulated Porcelain – George Owen

I love watching Antiques Roadshow & Bargain Hunt, and saw an episode recently which showed a beautiful old vase made by George Owen (1845-1917).  It was Reticulated Porcelain ( or Porcelaine réticulée in French).  The piece wasn’t signed because it was an early trial piece, with a chunk that had been restored at the bottom of the vase.   The screenshot below is from Christies, click on the picture to go to the website.  Just one example of these glorious and skilled works of George Owen !

Reticulated teapot_Christies

George Owen’s chosen field of expertise was reticulating – piercing decorative porcelain objects, a technique which he never divulged to anyone.  He was without equal, the quality of his work unmatched through to today.

Around 1845, pierced decoration was a hallmark of excellence at England’s Worcester potteries.  Reticulated pieces have double walls, of which the outside one is pierced with a pattern, often a network of exceeding fineness, a lace-work in porcelain through which may be seen the internal wall.

It is similar to reticulated masonry facing used in Roman times.  I googled the “history of reticulated porcelain“, and “George Owens reticulated porcelain“, but unfortunately, could not find much information via Google.

However, if you click on the link below, it will take you to Google images showing some of George Owen’s glorious porcelain works.

Australian Vintage Shell Art Lady Doll – Lakes Entrance Victoria

SHELL_DOLL_1      SHELL_DOLL_2SHELL_DOLL_3 SHELL_DOLL_4

SHELL_DOLL_5

SHELL_DOLL_6

Above are photos of my wonderful shell art doll – she is a vintage work of art from Lakes Entrance, a tourist resort and fishing port in eastern Victoria, Australia.  Now I have never been there, but I used to love collecting shells and fossicking around the huge coast-line of Western Australia, the land of the “Sand Gropers” where I live.  I LOVED going to Shell Museums & Shops to look at shells and to purchase beautiful, awesome shell art, too.

Well, I bought this magnificent once-off piece from an eBay seller back in November 2013.  She is 18 cm tall and sports a glitter covered shell purse, along with her “Lakes Entrance” tag.   She cost me $45 AUD (plus postage).  Who could resist her?

There is the Griffiths Sea Shell Museum at Lakes Entrance, which if you ever go to Victoria, would be well worth visiting, I am sure.  You won’t find many of these shell art dolls anymore on eBay, but could try other online platforms if you are looking for one –  like  etsy  OR  ruby lane.

Happy Shell art hunting.

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter SHIRE HORSE

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter Horse

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter Horse

I bought this BEAUUUTIFUL pewter Shire Horse from the eBay Seller – sea-eagle 1, a great Seller, with beautiful sculptures and figurines for sale – Collectables, Dolls & Toys.  Have a look at their porcelain Ladies and their Sherratt & Simpson animals for sale.

It is quite heavy and in mint condition, a stunning old, long retired original Wildlife Sculpture, circa 1980s.  The Horse ia approx. 3 3/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches high.   The Horse was packaged very well indeed, with special “puffy” padding and in a box with extra packaging material.  I was so excited when I got it and even kept the stamps on it.

This horse of course reminds me of Bill, the Shire pony in the “Lord of the Rings”.   I havent’ named my horse yet, but think it will be a lady’s name, when I do.

Royal Hampshire Foundry is well known for its pewter military figures, but it also manufactured some wildlife sculptures.  Alan Haig has the Kingfisher avaiable at the time of posting this.   He had a Squirrel, which was also VERY cute, but that has Sold !!

You can visit     SEA-EAGLE 1

for a beautiful and unusual figurine NOW.

YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED

The Roaring 20s Flappers

FlapperPhoto Credit

The last post includes head shots of me at my work Christmas Function this year.  I am wearing a beautiful fun red dress from the Roaring 20s, as worn by the “Flappers”. Work had kindly organised a Pixie Foto booth thing where two at a time had portrait shots taken and each were given a strip of 4 small photos.  Photos were supplied on a CD also.  Props were supplied too but of course I didn’t need any.

I like to make an effort and dress up a little for these gatherings which I find pleasant enough with a relaxed air abetted by plenty of alcoholic drinks for many present, except myself as I can only manage half a glass of wine, LOL.

snowman cupcake

Christmas “Snowman” Cup Cake from   Maven Espresso,  Perth Western Australia.   I took the sugar Snowman off as I couldn’t bear to eat it, and popped it in its plastic container in the freezer, to try to preserve it.  I remember when I was younger, looking up how to make sugar art creations, particularly sugar egg moldings.   Look at the beautiful sugar flowers below –  amazing !

sugar art flowersPhoto Source:   Cafe Expressions and Sugar Craft

You can read parts of the book   “The International School of Sugar Craft”   on Google Books, if you like.

Instructables   is a great site and shows you how to make Peekaboo Sugar Eggs.

If only I were that  …. clever …. and patient !!    You will need to register with the Instructables Site in order to download a PDF document of the instructions.

The site says this about the Eggs.

Traditionally given as Easter gifts, panorama or peekaboo sugar eggs are impressive and inexpensive to make. The primary building material is sugar and most of the specialized equipment can be swapped out for basic home tools. Time is what you’ll invest the most in this project — both for creating the eggs and for drying between steps.

The eggs look wonderful and bright and pretty, and I love looking at the Steps to make them.   They say that their finished egg does not need refrigeration, but it should be kept dry. It is made from sugar and royal icing, which doesn’t spoil easily, so wrapped in plastic, the egg should keep indefinitely.  It’s not a White Christmas here “Down Under” of course, as it is our Summer, but the Snowman is so beautifully crafted and so, well, sweet, that I couldn’t bear to eat him – just yet anyway.

Happy Sugar Art Creating or Eating, whichever you like to do.

Wax Candle Making, Honey, & Reminiscences

Beeswax Candles

Beeswax Candles from Heathmont Honey

REMINISCING

A long, long time ago I went to the YMCA or was it the YWCA here in Australia.  I know “YMCA” was a song sung by the Village People.  Anyhow, as a younger person I went to younger person’s crafts classes and to something or other at which we visited some wonderful places and did some great things.

For example, we visited a Soft Drink Manufacturer’s place on one occasion and some of us were given a bottle of carbonated drink.  As we sat by the roadside on the kerb waiting for one of our brothers to pick us up, a bottle, that one of my sisters had placed by the kerb, suddenly exploded.  Luckily, nobody was hurt, but as you can imagine, we kids weren’t too pleased at losing that drink and our parents were none too pleased with that Soft drink manufacturer.
