i-sew-cute treasures !

Shell-necklace-1

Today my treasures, 3 of them and more, arrived from an amazing craftswoman, June, based in Ohio USA.

I am thrilled with my large heart shaped pendant, filled with real tiny sea-shells and star-fish, and with my deer ring – so cute and sweet and cheery against a vivid blue and snowy background scene.

You can see from June’s Etsy store, link above, that her imaginative and highly beautiful and creative jewellery is creating quite a “storm” e.g. Miley Cyrus wears an  **  i-sew-cute **  large sparkling red heart shaped ring.

My own interest in these treasures began a while ago when I bought 2 of June’s heart shaped Unicorn pendants.  I gifted these to my 2 young nieces, whom love them.

Well, this ocean themed pendant and the dear ring are mine!  Even though I have got small hands, I actually wear large “statement” type rings, and I LOVE bling, and I love my 2 new pieces of jewellery, thank you to June.

In the photo I’m wearing what I call my “Kylie” glasses – they are my reading glasses (and I call them my Kylie glasses because they look somewhat like something I thought Kylie Minogue would wear, LOL) …. and you can see just how large the sparkly pendant is too – at 2.5 inches x 2 inches.  The pendant and ring are made from eco-friendly resin and glitter, and the ring band is quite adjustable.

Lately I have been feeling quite depressed at work because although I am a nice person and do my utmost in my workplace to include and support all others, I have moved to an expanded work team at a new location within the CBD / city – – –  and not feeling understood / acknowledged / appreciated or genuinely supported – even to the extent that women in my own immediate team whom I have shown the aforementioned to – –  were lashing out at me.   Too many harsh things one after the other – so RETREAT …..  I couldn’t face them again so I took the day off work.

No, I do not bury my head in the sand and avoid resolutions, or get unnecessarily angry with anyone.  I always try to make sense of things and try to improve my own-self in terms of my relationships with others and getting what I truly want – which is the aforementioned.

Sometimes this takes a huge effort ….. and you know what ??

You can expect nice surprises from Life, as well as not so pleasant unexpected things, I have learned.  With my jewellery, June also kindly sent me a gorgeous rainbow Cat-Unicorn !!  Here she is.  I gave a cry of delight when I saw this card and exclaimed “Oh, that is sewwwww cute”.    It is and it has warmed my Heart.    This sweet colourful surprise has helped heal me today, as has my heart pendant and animal themed dome shaped ring.

So, as you travel through Life, keep your heart open for rewards and nice surprises.

And for some gorgeous and uplifting jewellery head over now to

Make sure you read all of June’s “Announcements” and her “About” page.   June is not only a gifted artisan but an inspiration to me, and I wish June and her family well.  Now, my rainbow Unicorn cat, my deer friend & my Star-fish and Sea-shells are all going to have a rendezvous with me, and we will relax, surf the waves (so to speak) and be happy.

Thank you June.

Crystals & Colorado Gold

Today I received a gorgeous little bottle of sparkling gold from Colorado, with a little Moose gracing the top.  I purchased this from    sshillbilly   and am 110% happy with the transaction.  The sweet little bottle was well packed and arrived from the U.S.A. all the way to “Down Under” very fast.  I excitedly un-packed the box, noting an extra package, which turned out to be a terrific magnetic Moose chimes for the fridge!  My partner and I love it and immediately put it on our refrigerator.   I said “that’s funny (as in amazing) because I have been really wanting a small set of chimes.”

I placed the gold flakes in the bottle (being watched over by the Moose) next to my lovely crystals and my new “Zen Garden Crystal set”.   The Zen Garden tumbled stones are for “success & abundance” and I was seeking a little bottle of gold to put near it, then I found an item – which would be PERFECT.

Genuine Gold Flakes Colorado Deco Bottle With Moose on Top

It really is a thrill for me to now have this gold bottle because lately I’ve been watching the Documentary series “Prospectors” and love watching the teams prospect by hand for topaz, aquamarine and other crystals in beautiful Colorado.  Also I watch “Klondike Gold” where the teams go to unbelievable heights to get gold.  The gold in this bottle glows.  It is real gold and it’s a good sign to have what you would like more of with your crystals or Meditation objects, and to keep them clear / clean of course, and thus “charged,  and to infuse them with your positive intents.

MOOSE CHIMES

Furthermore, my “inner Animal Totem or Guide” is the  BUFFALO  –  see my other Blog  here .

Now I know that a Buffalo is NOT a Moose, and a Moose is not a Buffalo, however I love Moose or Elk and I respect all animals.  I hope that Moose, in their natural habitats, will be able to stay away from troublesome humans and flourish.

Head over to Rick’s  eBay Store  for a really interesting bargain, if you want, and you won’t be disappointed.  I am carrying around my bottle of gold today – so moving it from my Study to the Lounge room to the Kitchen to Dining area –  because it makes me feel like a million dollars – and the Moose totem makes me feel comfortable.

It “warms the cockles” to be surprised with the thoughtfulness and generosity of a welcome free Gift.   We are all in this one Earth together Folks, let’s appreciate & respect the Earth’s resources, learn from each other, and be nice to each other … altogether in our Lovely World.

Hello Kitty

Hello_Kitty_mirror1.JPG

Here is my beautiful one-of-a-kind Hello Kitty Hawaiian Hibiscus mirror!  I love it, and purchased it on ebay from “Pretty Kittys“.

Hello_Kitty_mirror2.JPG

I love “Hello Kitty” and I love kitties and Kit Kats!  At work I have a “Hello Kitty” mouse mat and a “Hello Kitty” deluxe pencil / pen case.  I was thrilled to receive my Mirror this week, along with some other welcome surprises, which the seller very kindly sent to me.

I bought the double pencil case below from an eBay seller also, a while ago, for my sister.  It has a middle section, one side with coloured pencils and the other side with textas, and various drawing and art instruments strapped into each opposite pouch / side.

Perth Royal Show 2015

Purrfectly Cool_Perth_Royal_Show_2015

It’s on again!  The Perth Royal Show, this year, runs from Saturday 26th September until Saturday 3rd October 2015.  Just one week of games, rides, showbags, animals, exhibitions and purchases you wouldn’t normally make!

My sister and I bought our tickets earlier from our local IGA store with a saving of $4, making our Adult priced tickets $25 each rather than $29 each.  Any saving is a saving, we thought.  Having perused the parking suggestions on the official website, we decided to park at Rowe Park, the closest parking to the show at the Claremont Showgrounds.

I’m used to getting up around 6.15 am to go to work, so my sister stayed the night at my house on Friday 25th, then on Saturday 26th, we got up early, had a light breakfast & got ready.  Off we went, with my sister driving, loaded with camera, coffee in a thermos flask, hats, and a bottle of Powerade drink each.  We arrived at the little concrete car park for the actual Park, about 7.50 am, yes, at ten to 8.   We planned to get there an hour before the Show started, because we heard there was very limited parking.   We also though that one had to pay $20 for official parking.

However, because we had got there so very early, luckily, we were able to park in the official car park, rather than have to drive onto the lawn, which I think is what you have to pay for.  Rowe Park was a pleasant grassy area with swings and amenities, a great place for kids to play in or adults to sun themselves to have a sleep, or to do some pleasant reading.  In the car, I sipped my coffee eagerly, while noting a Sign reading “Surveillance Cameras” in use.

If you are driving, I recommend you turn into Langsford Street, Vaucluse Avenue or Reserve Road, off Stirling Highway, as shown below, to get to Stevens Road.   The small Car Park is off Stevens Road.  You then simply get out off your car, and bear right-ish or cross the road carefully ( two lanes ) and walk to the right under the bridge then around to the left and there is Gate One.

Incy Wincy Spider – or Spider Woman

Re-blogging this here, from my Fascinating Animals Blog, as it contains gorgeous photos of my Lefton figurine of “Little Miss Muffet” !!

Fascinating Animals

Little Miss Starwise stood by the train

Waiting for transport which soon came

There winched down beside her

a little black spider

which made Little Miss try to hide her

This is a little ditty that I wrote on Thursday 19 August 2015.  You may be able to tell the Story behind it.

I was waiting on the train platform to catch the train to work, when to my surprise, a beautiful small black spider winched her way down beside me on my right.  It was almost as though she ( why say “he” all the time ) was saying hello to me personally.  The thing is she landed on the concrete, much to my alarm, as there were many Homo sapiens species ( people ) standing restlessly around.  I tried sending a message telepathically to the spider, an image of being stepped on, which I imagined happening to me…

2015 – the Chinese Year of the Goat

Happy Year of the Sheep!

lamb

The lunar Year of the Yin Green Wood Sheep runs from Thursday Feb 19 2015 to Sunday Feb 7 2016. In a Sheep year, we enter an era of beauty, art, romance and abundance. We can expect the occasional upset, as this is an emotional sign, but overall the Sheep attunes to peace. It’s a good time to resolve stubborn problems or break free of negative cycles.

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter SHIRE HORSE

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter Horse

Royal Hampshire Foundry Pewter Horse

I bought this BEAUUUTIFUL pewter Shire Horse from the eBay Seller – sea-eagle 1, a great Seller, with beautiful sculptures and figurines for sale – Collectables, Dolls & Toys.  Have a look at their porcelain Ladies and their Sherratt & Simpson animals for sale.

It is quite heavy and in mint condition, a stunning old, long retired original Wildlife Sculpture, circa 1980s.  The Horse ia approx. 3 3/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches high.   The Horse was packaged very well indeed, with special “puffy” padding and in a box with extra packaging material.  I was so excited when I got it and even kept the stamps on it.

This horse of course reminds me of Bill, the Shire pony in the “Lord of the Rings”.   I havent’ named my horse yet, but think it will be a lady’s name, when I do.

Royal Hampshire Foundry is well known for its pewter military figures, but it also manufactured some wildlife sculptures.  Alan Haig has the Kingfisher avaiable at the time of posting this.   He had a Squirrel, which was also VERY cute, but that has Sold !!

You can visit     SEA-EAGLE 1

for a beautiful and unusual figurine NOW.

YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED

Cavalia – Beautiful & Breathtaking

cavalia poster

cavalia water scene

The Media reported that the Equestrian Artistic Show CAVALIA is beautiful and breathtaking, and I found it to be just that.

Perth, Western Australia is fortunate to be graced with several Cavalia performances in 2013, and my sister and I attended the matinee show on Sunday 15 December.   Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide have been added to Cavalia’s first ever Australian tour in 2013.

The lavish production, which has been seen by over four million people in Northern America and Europe, explores the relationship between humans and horses through the ages and features 48 horses and 36 riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers and musicians from all over the world.

A constantly changing digital background projected onto a 60 metre-wide screen is designed to draw audiences into a dream-like world and a 50 metre-wide stage gives the horses enough space to gallop at full speed.

Cavalia is held in the largest touring tent in the world – a white, 2,440-square-metre big top, which rises about 35 metres high.

I can sum up my experience of Cavalia in a word  –  “unforgettable”.

Wax Candle Making, Honey, & Reminiscences

Beeswax Candles

Beeswax Candles from Heathmont Honey

REMINISCING

A long, long time ago I went to the YMCA or was it the YWCA here in Australia.  I know “YMCA” was a song sung by the Village People.  Anyhow, as a younger person I went to younger person’s crafts classes and to something or other at which we visited some wonderful places and did some great things.

For example, we visited a Soft Drink Manufacturer’s place on one occasion and some of us were given a bottle of carbonated drink.  As we sat by the roadside on the kerb waiting for one of our brothers to pick us up, a bottle, that one of my sisters had placed by the kerb, suddenly exploded.  Luckily, nobody was hurt, but as you can imagine, we kids weren’t too pleased at losing that drink and our parents were none too pleased with that Soft drink manufacturer.

Crayon Scratch Art – a blast from the past

Click on picture to see it enlarged

Here is my masterpiece in “crayon scratch art” that I made when I was a youngster.   It was achieved by first using different coloured crayons to cover a piece of white paper with stripes and crosses and goodness knows what.   After that, I then laboriously coloured over the top of the whole thing using a black crayon!   Next, I determinedly set to with a pin or some sharp object to scratch a rustic scene into the crayon matrix!

This piece of artwork has somehow survived the 30 plus years since it was created.  When I recently found it I did have to spend some fascinating time staring at, trying to work out what the heck the perspective was.   At first, I thought there was a roof-top in the background, until my partner solemnly pointed out to me that if such was true, well, then, there was a chicken on the roof-top.   He said alot of effort had been put into the picture and he could see a chicken coop with 2 chickens in it, in the upper left of the picture.

Peering closely at the crayon work, I delightedly said “I see it, you are right, and there are a road and a tree too in the picture.”  My partner pointed me out too in the picture, but I said it wasn’t me because I don’t have curly hair, plus I wear glasses.

However, in retrospect, I now really do think the girl by the fence was intended to be me (albeit a new & improved me).   There is alot of detail – the Collie dog with a bone, the slinky cat, the bin for the feed for the horse, the hay for the horse – and a round yellow blob – which I think is just that.   I can’t remember it intentionally being a light bulb or anything like that, but then again – I couldn’t remember the chicken coop either …..
