Religious Bracelets and other treasures

religiousbracelet8

I may have mentioned in another post that I was brought up Catholic.  Well I have just bought a beautiful Fellowship Bracelet from a wonderful eBay seller  the Immaculata   for a good friend of mine in the USA.   It is a unique chunky bracelet with charms, as above.

Now I’ve gone back to the site & purchased for myself a pretty multi-coloured stone chip bracelet.  It has a small stone butterfly and stone cross.  When I was younger my favorite bracelet was one with a stone cross!  It is beautiful.  I love multi-colours too!

Head over now to look at the amazing array of items for yourself in the United States, or another country – –   or for a Friend or family member.   UPDATE:  Sadly (for me) I did not get the bracelet above, because the Seller could not post it to me in Australia due to shipping constraints.  If I was in the USA the same country as the seller, I would have been able to purchase it.

Perth Royal Show 2015

Purrfectly Cool_Perth_Royal_Show_2015

It’s on again!  The Perth Royal Show, this year, runs from Saturday 26th September until Saturday 3rd October 2015.  Just one week of games, rides, showbags, animals, exhibitions and purchases you wouldn’t normally make!

My sister and I bought our tickets earlier from our local IGA store with a saving of $4, making our Adult priced tickets $25 each rather than $29 each.  Any saving is a saving, we thought.  Having perused the parking suggestions on the official website, we decided to park at Rowe Park, the closest parking to the show at the Claremont Showgrounds.

I’m used to getting up around 6.15 am to go to work, so my sister stayed the night at my house on Friday 25th, then on Saturday 26th, we got up early, had a light breakfast & got ready.  Off we went, with my sister driving, loaded with camera, coffee in a thermos flask, hats, and a bottle of Powerade drink each.  We arrived at the little concrete car park for the actual Park, about 7.50 am, yes, at ten to 8.   We planned to get there an hour before the Show started, because we heard there was very limited parking.   We also though that one had to pay $20 for official parking.

However, because we had got there so very early, luckily, we were able to park in the official car park, rather than have to drive onto the lawn, which I think is what you have to pay for.  Rowe Park was a pleasant grassy area with swings and amenities, a great place for kids to play in or adults to sun themselves to have a sleep, or to do some pleasant reading.  In the car, I sipped my coffee eagerly, while noting a Sign reading “Surveillance Cameras” in use.

If you are driving, I recommend you turn into Langsford Street, Vaucluse Avenue or Reserve Road, off Stirling Highway, as shown below, to get to Stevens Road.   The small Car Park is off Stevens Road.  You then simply get out off your car, and bear right-ish or cross the road carefully ( two lanes ) and walk to the right under the bridge then around to the left and there is Gate One.

Princess Charming by Atlas – Lucite – Wicker Vintage Handbag – Seashell Design

seashell wicker basket 2

I just received my beautiful gorgeous Seashell Handbag from Marianna of     “Sweeties Memorable Gemz”   on Ruby Lane.

It is amazing.  I really love it and as we are heading here “Down Under” in Australia, into Spring, it is perfect for taking out and about and using on casual outings.  The Listing had the following description for this bag.  It was made in the same era as me (1960s).

Princess Charming by Atlas of Hollywood Florida – Made in Hong Kong – Front Panel decorated with Seashells, Seahorse Charms. Vintage 1950’s – 1960’s.

This charming vintage white wicker box bag is an underwater scene with faux coral, various seashells and starfish and seahorse charms all placed on a white lace type open weave fabric. The entire decorated panel is edged in fancy gold trim. There is a clear layer of plastic that covers and protects the underwater scene. The measurements inside the trim panel are 11″ x 6-1/2″.

The white wicker is a laminated wicker that shows no wear. There are also white leather accents on the bottom where the bag has 4 brass protective feet. The top is framed in white marbleized Lucite with a Lucite clasp and double Lucite handles.   This is a perfect handbag to carry during the summer.

The white plastic liner has a zipper compartment and open pouch, the inside is very clean and has no odors. The brass hardware on the top is bright. The measurements are 12″ across x 8″ high (with the Lucite handle the measurement is about 12″ high), the depth is 4″ making it a roomy box bag to carry.  This Atlas of Hollywood Florida is a highly original theme design bag that was popular in the 1950’s and 60’s and highly collectible and popular to carry today.

Adora Belle Boutique

Above are photos of my wonderful new Bracelets.

They were made by a talented Australian, Natasha, who has an eBay Store!

Adora Belle Boutique

Recently I have been quite drawn to gemstones and the mineral world, and attracting some to me, as well as purchasing some items.  Recently, a friend at work gave me some beautiful polished Chakra stones.

African Turqoise is not a real turqoise, but is a teal coloured Jasper.  These bracelets are amazing.  The stones are large and the bracelets comfortable to wear, and look gorgeous.  I feel lucky to have them, and I can say that I felt a nice energy when just looking at these bracelets on the eBay store.  Rest assured that if you purchase a Bracelet or item from Adora Belle Boutique, that you will love it.  I will love wearing my bracelets.

Jacqui from Holistic Harmony provided a wonderful “Crystal Healing Directory” which I attach below, if you would like to look up the healing / beneficial properties of the various crystals / stones.  In my experience, the beautiful amazing gems from our natural world do amplify various energetic aspects of our human bodies, so can benefit us by wearing them, or having them near us!

I have just ordered a beautiful pink Rhodocrosite bracelet from an Etsy seller, with a Virgo charm.  You can select a Charm to be affixed to your Bracelet, and it will be sent to you post haste by a lovely seller in Miami, U.S.A.    See  https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/HealingAtlas and what is also great, I think, is that you can choose a bracelet length and get a quote on “shipping” costs to your country, and the postage cost is very reasonable, given the high postage prices from the U.S.   See photos below.

Well, when I found out that Rhodocrosite is not only the most gorgeous amazing color ( one of my favorites – pink ) but it also helps to heal the heart or the emotions, I thought this is also for me.  So, I have “splashed” out on the pink too –  this beautiful bracelet did not cost me much.

I am the “Gemstone Bracelet Queen”, I think! I love pretty gemstone bracelets and other jewellery. Well, these gemstone bracelets are well worth what I paid for them – in fact they are priceless in terms of the pleasure and benefit they will bring me!

Squid Lips, Candy Cows & Margaret River

Entrance to Lake Cave Western AustraliaMy partner and I spent a lovely 3 nights away recently in Margaret River, at the beautiful Riverside Tourist Park in Willmott Avenue, a stone’s throw away from the Town centre! We left the suburbs of Perth around 11.00 am on Thursday 23rd April and arrived at our new temporary residence 3 hours later.

Margaret_River_Town_MapOur domicile was a small 2 person chalet, number 15, quite close to the Office. The park consists of a great number of different accommodation arrangements, to accommodate singles, couples and families, and includes lovely awesome cottages alongside the Margaret River.

Reticulated Porcelain – George Owen

I love watching Antiques Roadshow & Bargain Hunt, and saw an episode recently which showed a beautiful old vase made by George Owen (1845-1917).  It was Reticulated Porcelain ( or Porcelaine réticulée in French).  The piece wasn’t signed because it was an early trial piece, with a chunk that had been restored at the bottom of the vase.   The screenshot below is from Christies, click on the picture to go to the website.  Just one example of these glorious and skilled works of George Owen !

Reticulated teapot_Christies

George Owen’s chosen field of expertise was reticulating – piercing decorative porcelain objects, a technique which he never divulged to anyone.  He was without equal, the quality of his work unmatched through to today.

Around 1845, pierced decoration was a hallmark of excellence at England’s Worcester potteries.  Reticulated pieces have double walls, of which the outside one is pierced with a pattern, often a network of exceeding fineness, a lace-work in porcelain through which may be seen the internal wall.

It is similar to reticulated masonry facing used in Roman times.  I googled the “history of reticulated porcelain“, and “George Owens reticulated porcelain“, but unfortunately, could not find much information via Google.

However, if you click on the link below, it will take you to Google images showing some of George Owen’s glorious porcelain works.

Laura Ashley

Laura Ashley stores are quite popular in Australia, mainly for the line of home furnishings.  I went to a store in the CBD (Central Business District) of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, last week, and bought myself a nice pair of coloured jeans.  My jeans are size 6 and in a lovely “umber” or natural earth colour, and are 98 percent cotton with polyester lining.  The fabric is beautifully soft and smooth, and the fit is just right, with tucking up the legs a little.  I love coloured jeans and had a pair of red jeans followed by a pair of green jeans years ago.  Now I have “umber” jeans from Laura Ashley, thanks to the end-of-the-year Sale.   These jeans were already 50 percent off and a sign read “take a further 25 percent off” so I did just that, and got my Jeans for around $36.

Flippin’ Fun – Flip Books

Flip Book 1

Click on the first picture below, then advance through the Gallery.  Click on the small x in the upper left corner to close the Gallery.   Note, the pictures are a bit pale, because I quickly sketched them using light coloured pencils

Last week I had an interesting dream in which I was helping people draw some art work to put together some three part or three section Flip Books, the type in which you have a person with a head, a torso, and some legs.  With just 2 different pictures, you can arrange a booklet so you have 6 different combinations.   Above are representations of my 2 drawings that I did last week, followed by the combinations made by having three sections.  Following is a link to how to do your own Flip Book.  It’s really, really fun to draw your own pictures, and they don’t have to even be people, and then you can flip out over your own Flip Books.
