Religious Bracelets and other treasures

religiousbracelet8

I may have mentioned in another post that I was brought up Catholic.  Well I have just bought a beautiful Fellowship Bracelet from a wonderful eBay seller  the Immaculata   for a good friend of mine in the USA.   It is a unique chunky bracelet with charms, as above.

Now I’ve gone back to the site & purchased for myself a pretty multi-coloured stone chip bracelet.  It has a small stone butterfly and stone cross.  When I was younger my favorite bracelet was one with a stone cross!  It is beautiful.  I love multi-colours too!

Head over now to look at the amazing array of items for yourself in the United States, or another country – –   or for a Friend or family member.   UPDATE:  Sadly (for me) I did not get the bracelet above, because the Seller could not post it to me in Australia due to shipping constraints.  If I was in the USA the same country as the seller, I would have been able to purchase it.

Gemstone Hearts

aaa-3-hearts

Ice blue Calcite puffy heart

Deep ocean green Aventurine puffy heart

Rose Quartz crystal puffy heart

Have a Heart !    Well, not one of mine because I will never give away my Heart, haha.  But gemstone heart shapes are very beautiful & soothing to have by your computer, or by your bedside, on your dressing table or anywhere you choose where you can see them, feel them and pick them up and connect to their energies.  You can shop around on eBay and on Etsy for your own gemstone hearts.

I bought mine from various online Sellers and I have a small palm-stone sized beautiful rose quartz heart which I carry around with me, in a pouch, in my pocket.

I have just been lucky enough to find Crystal Miracles on Etsy from whom I bought myself a small pocket sized banded agate heart.

bandedagateheart

Crystal Miracles has very affordable beautiful gemstone hearts and other crystal wonders that can be posted around the world.  I fell in love with the Earth’s treasures in this Etsy store and have bought some for friends!

This Seller also has a great eBay store –    Crystal Universe

Don’t forget my friend Ethan’s shop on Etsy too – for gorgeous gemstone bracelets for MEN and women.  These creations inspire and the various gemstones have properties which can work with a person’s own energies to impart the qualities of the gemstones.  Just “google” e.g.  sugilite meaning  Or   sugilite metaphysical properties.

I have the most wonderful beautiful spiritual gemstone bracelets already from Ethan.  Check out my amazing PURPLE SUGALITE bracelet from Ethan, at the Link above!

Lemon Meringue

lemondoll

Strawberry Shortcake’s best friend is “Lemon Meringue.”   I’ve just bought her together with her Butterfly friend, Henna, from a super eBay Seller – Lotus Eight and I love her to bits.  Yes, I am a bit of a Doll collector and already have the traditional small size Strawberry Shortcake with her pet cat  Custard.

My Lemon Meringue comes in mint condition in a box, and she is a beauty – a large 15 inch size to go with my large Strawberry Shortcake Doll !   This sweet lemon scented girl will be well cared for in my home.

I can say “I was over the Moon” when I saw her listed in Australia, pristine and lemon smelling, in her Box, because she is even more my favorite than the strawberry type.  I saw one of these large lemon dolls years ago but it slipped past me, then to my surprise & pleasure I saw Lotus Eight had it for sale at a great price.  Just in time for my Birthday which is on the 14th September.  Whoever said only kids play with Dolls is just …… wrong.

More Dolls to be listed soon on the Lotus Eight website !

Winning the Watching of the Rio 2016 Olympics – Channel 7 (Seven) Coverage

This is a guide for watching the broadcasts in Australia but the same principle applies for watching television and the “app” in any Country.

First of all, you may have a Book or a newspaper item or magazine with a general Schedule of events, for example I have a magazine called “Official Australian Olympic Team Guide to the 2016 Olympic Games – what to watch in Rio” which has a very nice 2 page spread (not removable) showing coloured blocks for all days of the Olympics denoting the Events scheduled, separating out the Medal events.

However, you really need a precise guide of the exact scheduled times of the Events to make “head or tail” of watching what you really want to watch on TV or on the Channel 7 App here in Australia.  I learned this the hard way.

I found that if you simply type  Rio Olympics Schedule  ( or Olympic Games Rio 2016 ) into Google you should get the day’s scheduled events pop up, then when you click on the arrow above “All Events” down the bottom, Google kindly shows much detailed information ( but don’t worry – you won’t see any Results ).  See screenshot below.

NOTE:  that Google will kindly show you the  LOCAL  times.  Click on “Overview” to return to the screen above, if you have navigated to one of the other Pages.

If Google isn’t the “search engine” that you use, just type Google into your search field, then click on the resultant link – to go to Google.  You will know you are using Google because their name appears at the top of the Search area.  Make sure that the Date and Time on your mobile device or computer’s clock is correct.

The Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic

Translation from original Aramaic

O cosmic Birther, from whom the breath of life comes,
who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration.
May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest.  Your Heavenly Domain approaches.
Let Your will come true in the universe (all that vibrates) just as on earth (that is material and dense).
Give us wisdom (understanding, assistance) for our daily need,
detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma) like we let go the guilt of others.
Let us not be lost in superficial things (materialism, common temptations), but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true purpose.
From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act, the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age.
Sealed in trust, faith and truth. (I confirm with my entire being)

The Lord’s Prayer, also called the Our Father and the Pater Noster, is a venerated Christian prayer that, according to the New Testament, was taught by Jesus to his disciples.  Did you know that this prayer which Jesus taught on a hill in Gallilee to his followers who asked how may we pray, was originally of course, spoken in Jesus’ native tongue, Aramaic?

This prayer is recorded in the Gospel of Luke (Ch. 11:2-4), written in a final form about 80CE, and the Gospel of Matthew (Ch. 6:9-13), which was completed approximately in 85CE. The longer version of this prayer from the Book of Matthew has become the standard in the liturgy and daily prayers of over one billion Christians worldwide.

The Gospels and Books of the New Testament were set down in Greek between 20 and 80 years after they were spoken. Greek was the vernacular of the West and the language of commerce. The vernacular of the East, and Jesus’ language, was Aramaic.

I love the original translation and the version in Aramaic sung by Pascale Sakr below. What I really like is the reference to the all gender origin of God – the Cosmic Birther – rather than putting a masculine spin on this prayer ( why not say Our Father / Mother or Our Mother for that matter )?  I LOVE the ending about the song that renews eternally!

There is also another version on You Tube with the words, that I like – link below.

Happy Birthday to Therese and Celine

It’s our Birthdays today!  I was born 1.25 hours after my non-identical twin sister, Therese.

The nicest birthday gift for me ( Celine ) today was waking up, and the first thing that I saw –  was our beautiful, sweet, soft Shandy cat, smiling at me.   How nice is that ?   Below is a photo of him in his new “tiger cubby” bed, napping by the fire.  He sleeps alot as he is 15 years old, but he is full of Life and is a wise Be-ing.  I was grateful to pat his little head, and say “Thank you for being here on my Birthday” to him!

Shandyinbed2So, on the Saturday past, I went out to dinner and here is a photo of the cake that I was surprised with.

birthday_cake

Today, my partner & sister and I will have a quiet but lovely evening at home, with dinner and watching movies.  This is a special birthday for me, as it took 8 months from last October for me to fully recover from major surgery.  I am so glad that I made it to this Birthday.

To finish off, here is a coloring picture from my book on Mandalas.  I coloured it in myself, and it took quite a while to do so.  It is a reminder that there are “invisible” spirits or sprites cum energies around us all the time, that are benevolent and help us and Nature.

Squid Lips, Candy Cows & Margaret River

We left the suburbs of Perth around 11.00 am on Thursday 23rd April and arrived at our new temporary residence 3 hours later.

Reticulated Porcelain – George Owen

I love watching Antiques Roadshow & Bargain Hunt, and saw an episode recently which showed a beautiful old vase made by George Owen (1845-1917).  It was Reticulated Porcelain ( or Porcelaine réticulée in French).  The piece wasn’t signed because it was an early trial piece, with a chunk that had been restored at the bottom of the vase.   The screenshot below is from Christies, click on the picture to go to the website.  Just one example of these glorious and skilled works of George Owen !

Reticulated teapot_Christies

George Owen’s chosen field of expertise was reticulating – piercing decorative porcelain objects, a technique which he never divulged to anyone.  He was without equal, the quality of his work unmatched through to today.

Around 1845, pierced decoration was a hallmark of excellence at England’s Worcester potteries.  Reticulated pieces have double walls, of which the outside one is pierced with a pattern, often a network of exceeding fineness, a lace-work in porcelain through which may be seen the internal wall.

It is similar to reticulated masonry facing used in Roman times.  I googled the “history of reticulated porcelain“, and “George Owens reticulated porcelain“, but unfortunately, could not find much information via Google.

However, if you click on the link below, it will take you to Google images showing some of George Owen’s glorious porcelain works.

Enjoy !

Yesterday I got a lovely surprise at work, when a colleague kindly gave me this beautiful and tasty Cup-cake from Maven Espresso Cafe for a “treat”.   I was hungry and so after taking photos of this work of art, I ate it.   I do have a sweet tooth.  I have probably tried every type of cup-cake from Maven by now.  I love and appreciate them all.

Happy Mother’s Day

11th May 2014 is “Mother’s Day” in Australia, so a very H A P P Y MOTHER’S DAY to all mothers and spiritual mothers too! I am a “mother” to our cat Shandy, according to Shandy cat, so Happy Mother’s Day to me too.

DRAWING

Above is a drawing by one of my 7 year old twin nieces.  There were four mothers out today having lunch out, myself, my partner’s sister (mother of twin girls and another girl), my partner’s mother, and my partner’s sister’s husband’s mother.

The drawing started out with a round circle drawn by my niece which I filled in.  My partner said it looked like Dr Spock and I replied it was supposed to be an Elf.  She drew the top and he drew the pants and I drew the curly bell-topped shoes.  My niece drew the hat with the feather and the stream or river with a mermaid popping its head up.  I drew the bird and the background, except for the little house on the left of the hill.

Someone said the Elf should have a friend, so my Mother-in-Law suggested my niece draw “Big Ears” ( Noddy’s friend as the Elf looks a bit like Noddy ).  Another person said why not draw a Gnome, to which I gasped it would be hard to draw a gnome.  But NO, it wasn’t difficult for my 7 year old niece, and hey presto, a character almost out of “Gnomeo” appears in the picture to the left of the Elf.

Quite a marvelous collaborative effort, wouldn’t you say?  The other twin niece drew the fairy in the background and we all drew some magic fairy dust or sparkles scattered about the picture.

Below is a scan of a photocopy of part of a Card that I chose for my Mother-in-Law.  The Card had removable Tokens, shown below.  I tried to do a colour scan of the whole card but couldn’t get the right drivers on my computer in time, so all I could manage was a black and white photocopy of part of the card.  Now the card is with my partner’s Mother, so I just decided to scan the b&w photocopied image, and here it is.

So, to all Mothers around the World, take it easy –

TODAY and EVERY DAY is YOUR DAY !!
