Dragonstone and Ocean Jasper

Septarian or Dragonstone egg

Ocean Jasper egg

Above are photos of my two favourite gemstone eggs!  They are about 7 centimeres tall, and about 4 centimetres at the widest width.  I have small spheres in rose quartz, calcite, and blue colours, and a large clear quartz crystal ball also, not to forget 2 crystal skulls (one is large and is a smoky quartz crystal & the other is quite small and is made of rare nuumite).

Getting back to the gemstone eggs above, the brownish egg with the dark brown waves is Dragonstone or Septarian.

Septarian Nodules, also called Dragonstone, are from Madagascar, and are concretions of sedimentary rock containing radiating fissures called “septaria”, (from the Latin word septum; “partition”, referring to the cracks/separations in this stone).  Septarian cavities fill with clay ironstone and the radiating fissures usually contain crystals of buttery calcite, though Siderite or pyrite coatings are also occasionally present showing bright reddish and golden colors.

Dragonstone/Septarian is said to be a healing stone beneficial for overall health and well being.  It opens psychic abilities and enhances communication.

The beautiful pink egg is Ocean Jasper.

Ocean Jasper (also called Orbicular Jasper) is an unusual jasper found only at a remote location on the coast of Madagascar that can only be mined at low tide.   Ocean Jasper are excellent healing stones that encourage a feeling of joy and elevated spirits.  I can vouch for this type of gemstone – that is – I can say that Ocean Jasper does help me to release negative feelings and to feel more optimistic.

I also have a beautiful large rare honey coloured fluorite crystal ball at work, which helps “clear the air” of negative vibes.  Amethyst is my favourite stone to wear as it puts a smile on my face!

I don’t have a picture of my fluorite ball, but below is a picture of naturally occurring honey coloured fluorite balls, so you can get an idea of the colour.
